Troy had been quiet the whole time already, save for the odd mumbled answer he had to give to confirm he understood exactly what had to be done. In his own experience, the explosives they were to be using were powerful (and as he would say, so 'beautiful and delicately prepared') and he would give these people the confidence that they would be able to do this smoothly, this shouldn't be a problem. Automatically as they began to move he looked to his left for his brother. Tory's place was normally there, if he had an uncertain frown all it took was even the slightest smile from Troy to change it--likewise, Troy knew when he looked apprehensive Tory had a very mischievous grin about him that always perked Troy up. He was sure the two of them could run through Hell and back together if they had to, as long as they had each other to do that that was.
Right now Tory wasn't here and that unsettled him a bit. The only thing that could convince him this would all be alright was he kept repeating in his head that this was for Tanya, how heavily she relied on him. This was the kind of thing Parker would never do, never for that girl no matter how many stupid, lying promises he'd ever make! Troy knew he himself was better than that tool ever would be. Though now that he was here he almost felt like a big nothing compared to the other two with him. These two engineers with him seemed to intimidate him a little, particularly the younger guy--he and Tory prided themselves on their knowledge, it was scary to meet someone else who clearly could do this better! Or at least at a much younger age.
Despite his feelings, everything fell into routine with him as it always did as they crept along. With his trust placed in the guards overhead and with them he forced himself to focus on solely on getting close to the wall with the other technicians, the bomb being strategically placed and the setup was easy enough if not just a touch time-consuming as it was imperative that it worked the first time and did exactly as they needed it to do. Once he was confident they were just about ready to set the thing off he backed off, giving the command to the agents with him to make on it.

Natalia watched carefully as the engineers went about their work. It was tense, to say the least. There were countless vantage points for snipers to start firing upon them and they were being guarded by another sniper team that had a very minimal chance of spotting the enemy before they fired their first shots. To be honest if things got hot down there it was probably many would die in the gunfire.
Thankfully everything seemed safe. There was no movement in regards to the buildings that lined the street the engineers and their protectors traveled on. Natalia briefly thought that Icos had mistaken how careful these people were, perhaps the Imperial was getting paranoid in his 'old age'.
She saw it a moment later, movement behind the windows of the buildings and not just one, every building with visible windows was suddenly seeing movement. "Shit..." Natalia hissed as she grabbed her rifle and quickly aimed down the scope. She bit her lip as the movement picked up, without everyone on the ground realizing that they might have just stumbled into a kill zone.
Suddenly the window to one of the houses were opened and a rifle was aimed out of it. Natalia hissed as she steadied her aim and squeezed the trigger, causing a bullet to fly through the air and puncture the shooter's throat. That didn't help those on the ground of course, it wasn't just one man it was dozens and in a blink of an eye they fired upon those in the streets, lighting the once silent night into a fury of gunfire.

"Crap." Zahkriit said as he whipped around and started to aim at the windows, trying to take out the snipers. Agent T'ula, also fired at the windows, attempting to get the snipers. "Damn, damn, DAMN!" Zahkriit said as he kept shooting at them, not realizing his head wound had opened up, and blood started to roll down the side of his face. For every one that Zahkriit shot, two more took his place. "We need something stronger to stop them..." Zahkriit said, as he reloaded his rifle.

Well everything had been going just fine, impatiently awaiting for the moment the bomb could be detonated was the only thing that Troy found difficult. His patience wasn't as good as Tory's in that respect, which might have proved to do him more good for once in those first flash of seconds as he'd taken a couple of steps back from the spot he'd only been just standing in when one of the first bullets he felt zip past his shoulder.
This really wasn't something he was new to. Being shot at while setting up explosives was just part of the job, though being shot at by Dust was on a higher scale of unsettling. He reacted no different than normal, if one had them in their sights then he expected all of them to and habitually he sprung into action, diving for the first anything nearby that would hopefully provide suitable cover. The bomb worried him though, not that he expected all of them to die trying something impossible but it was kind of difficult for the others to carry on if they didn't get that hole in the wall soon. He wasn't a tactician himself, though Troy wasn't sure if Dust would be too alarmed now to allow them to proceed as carefully as they originally intended, that bomb really needed to go!
"Oh now this is great..." Troy mumbled, gun out and he bit his lip as he glanced back to the bomb right away and looked for his comrades. He'd taken the liberty of helping along with the placing and wiring of the mess, though he didn't recall being the one in charge of setting the timer on the damn thing.
It was counting down, right? It had to be, and he didn't have the backup detonator. He hadn't heard anyone say it was because of the sudden wave of bullets raining down on them but hot damn was that all the more reason for him to catch sight of at least one of the others with him.

Icos shot up from his chair as gunshots echoed throughout the street. He had feared something like this, not exactly that they were expecting an attack but simply they were far more defended than previously thought. Icos grabbed his rifle and glanced back at the remaining teams, "Sweep around and clear EVERY building there is." He pulled the bolt back and loaded a shot into place before glancing at his own team, "I'm heading in to pull our guys out."
Icos had been here before, ambushes in the Failed States was a common occurrence and when they occurred in cities were some of the most brutal fighting Icos had ever seen. The Marines would clear every proceeding building and drag out those barbarians out by their hair. So was he afraid as he led a group of IIA agents into the ambush? Of course, but instincts took over and Icos's sight was clear.
Meanwhile in the kill zone the bullets were slamming upon the agents who were flanked at both sides. One of the guards looked over to the three engineers and yelled through the heat of war towards them, "Please tell me those explosives are finished!?" He asked as a bullet snapped just inches from his head and collided instead with the ground. The IIA Agents had already gone to work, bursting into the nearby housing and taking the fight in close because if they tried to remain in the streets and fight it would be absolutely pointless, many IIA agents had already been shot, made apparent by the increasing amounts of screaming.
Meanwhile Natalia loaded a new clip into her weapon before ducking her head down as bullets hit the side of the building, they had been spotted now. "I don't suppose any of you are packing something bigger, hm?" She hummed as she pulled back the bolt to her weapon and pulled herself from cover, fire a round upon an area where a sniper was firing from. "If we decide to use a human catapult as a detraction I vote we throw the young guy. No offense young guy, Icos would simply be angry if we threw Zahkriit instead."
Natalia was well used to this situation and her own safely was in the back part of her mind as she feared for those on the ground. The screams of her allies made her angry and more daring to not put her head down when shots came her way.

Tanya paled, her fists clenched as she watched Icos move and give out orders to aid the crew on the ground. She didn't know what the scene would look like, though she desperately tried to keep her thoughts off of the idea of finding Troy's bloodied body laying in the dirt. She didn't know how she could tell Tory if something happened to him. She certainly didn't know what to tell her father if something happened to him as well. Automatically the girl followed with readied weapons, Callie following close behind her. The blonde girl shoved her way past Tanya and stood in front of her, keeping her from continuing further.
"Hang on, if we're going to be dumb and insist on helping him I'd rather it be me first," Callie gave her a smirk, "I do still have to protect you, you remember."
Without giving Tanya a chance to argue Callie bolted off after Icos and called out, "Hey! I can help haul here!" Actually she wasn't sure about that part, she just didn't want Tanya to rush out and receive a bullet-hell makeover. Troy was part of the team and she felt obligated to help bail him out.
Troy on the other hand worried about keeping his head low (really, really low) and anxiously glanced back at the explosives set up. They had only to blow! It couldn't be much harder than that.
"Tory! Fire the stupid--" catching himself yelling at the twin that wasn't there he let out an angry growl, "ah for...arggh! You guys!"
Screw that, maybe it was time he did something about it himself. Except he'd learned his lesson once the hard way about running out to investigate a live explosive, especially if he wasn't sure if the trigger was actually initiated. There should have been a counter, depending on when they set it it should have gone off anywhere between ten seconds ago and something like thirty seconds from now. He wasn't sure if it was set to blow though, and that was enough of a reason for him to try to find a way to force it to detonate instead.
He dug into his pocket, patting down his ammo case and slipping it out. Hiding inside were his standard revolver bullets but hiding along with them were others that looked like regular bullets, though what made them different in appearance alone was a singular red line that was drawn around the whole shell shape. Ideally an explosive round, when it worked.
"This will either work, or--" as Troy aimed his new, singular awesome bullet in his gun he pulled the trigger and he was immediately blown backwards into the ground by the explosion the gun created upon firing, his whole hand glowing pink already from the burn and singed the hair on his hand and forearm. Whatever actually came out of the gun itself threw itself into the bomb they'd set up like a fiery pebble that'd been rapidly flung into it.

Icos was on a war path right now, this was the moment he had been waiting for; a chance to make Dust hurt bad and he was NOT going to see his plan halter before the gate of the enemy. Stepped into the killzone with Callie, Tanya and the rest of his team behind him, Icos raised his weapon and locked eyes with a shooter. Despite not using a rifle he was totally familiar with it still felt like instinct, locking his eyes into sight he squeezed the trigger and let his should take the kick from the weapon. The bullet flew through the air and went straight into the shooter's left eye, collapsing the man to the floor.
Icos ducked his head behind a car and pulled the bolt to his weapon back. He could see from here the other team and they were in perfect range to get them out and keep them covered. "Spread out and lay down fire! Hail, take two other guys and get in that building and support beef up overwatch, move now!" Icos directed as the three men ran towards the house, one of them threw themselves into the door and brought it down. They'd head all the way up to the roof where they would have better aim.
Suddenly the explosion came, echoing throughout the entire street and briefly throwing up a great deal of smoke that settled about the fighters. The explosive did its job and created a beautiful hole in the wall. Icos smirked at this, they had broke the wall and now the only step left was storming the hold in a reasonable amount of time, Icos was sure that as soon as the hole was blown in the wall Dust went about destroying the information they had.

Zahkriit wiped the blood out of his eyes, and ducked as bullets were hitting the tower more. The young agent's face was in horror at the suggestion of him being fling. "No one is going to fling you at the enemy. We need to keep the snipers up at us. It takes their focus off of those on the ground. Agent T'ula, go downstairs and see if they have anything we can use. Take the revolver, leave the rifle, we will need it." Agent T'ula nodded as he crawled to the stairs to go looking for something. "I hope he can get something." Zahkriit said to Natalia as he used the rookie's rifle.

Tanya followed along behind Callie, in those first few moments very glad that the other girl had decided to go ahead of her as the gunshots rained down around them. The explosion was the most unsettling thing so far in the mix of the sounds, startling her even though she knew to expect it and had heard such familiar sounds before. This was too different for her, she was so close to all the action around her and right in the middle of it with only two people she knew out of how many with her.
"Watch it!" Callie's voice had barely been heard by Tanya, the blonde girl pushing herself into her to knock her to the side as she raised her own gun and fired it off. She didn't understand how the little Ellusian girl could even do this, run in hard as nails and not quiver as much as she did herself.
"Come on," Callie nudged her, giving her a brief glance, "this is it, we're doing this! We're gonna go get him, right?!"
Tanya saw a determined look in her eyes, something that showed an irreplaceable loyalty and, perhaps odd to say, good-natured. She tried to smile and raised her own weapons but lacked the bravery to fire yet, feeling her hands were shaking a little too badly at the moment. She was a good shot, she just needed to calm down.

With their enemies well suppressed Icos took the moment to pop his head out of his, holy to wince a moment as a bullet snapped against the object he had been hiding behind. "Son of a bitch." Icos hissed under his breath at the close shot, a couple of inches to the left and Icos's brains would have been spewed across the pavement. One of the IIA Agents besides Icos twisted his weapon to the right and fire upon the sniper who shot at them, at least he was pretty sure that was him, there were so many Collectors.
"Let's get something stronger in here!" Icos hissed, "Tell the support team to go all out." With a couple of words through a radio a sudden yet power flare of fire flew overhead and collided into the occupied building, with more following closely behind. Although Thelotia outlawed it the Empire hadn't, the employment of mana users was still in effect and boy did they know how to pack a punch.
"Engineers, move towards us!" Icos yelled back towards the team, as more fire flew overhead - the entire street would be burning before this night ended.

Tanya fell back, startled by the flare so much she cried out and ducked behind the nearest vehicle. Callie almost ran ahead on her before she realized the Flynn girl had been scared off by the tactical use of mana. It was a bit baffling to think that the girl hadn't seen anything like it before, though her experience in combat before the gates showed only too well and a thought come up in Callie's mind. Tanya shouldn't be here. This was Callie's idea, and Callie's idea was going to get the young girl killed.
The Ellusian girl shook her head wildly, diving in back for Tanya. This might have been her own dumb mistake but she wasn't going to let Tanya get hurt. She felt this was right, it had to be done. This was good for her, she needed this to help her friend and bring him home where he belonged. She felt Tanya could do this, she had to protect her though.
She grabbed Tanya's hand firmly.
"I'm right here with you, Tanya! You need me, I'm here for you. Mr. Kreatur needs you," she cried out over the gunfire and explosions around them, "if you don't do this for him, who's going to?"
Tanya stared at the girl with sheer terror flooded deep in her eyes, feeling as though she could drop dead right here and she'd almost oddly enough be happy with that. Callie's words got to her though, feeling something uplifting and yet layered with a bit of guilt for knowing she would rather run than press on. It was just as difficult to go back now as it was to press on. She was right, though. In her need, Callie had come for her. If they didn't do this for Hoch then no one would.
Squeezing Callie's hand, Tanya nodded. Too scared to speak, though too scared to cry by this point and they'd only barely begun.
Troy heard the calls, and the sound and flash of the fire for a brief moment as he lay on his side in the dirty street made him think for a moment he might have actually been dead this time. He hadn't suffered much in the recoil, though the blow back was hard and painful enough that it brought him back almost seven years ago in memories. Laying on the ground and just trying to gather his consciousness, his surroundings was too much of a vivid memory and for a moment he thought he could hear Tory's panicked shrieks call out for him again like they had then, the other twin having seen his brother ragdoll into the ground after a bomb detonation gone wrong.
Clawing at the ground with his burnt hand Troy hissed, it was already blistering. This was a better outcome than that day with Tory, though. Far better.
Fearing he'd be shot the moment it was seen he was moving again, Troy made it quick to roll back to his feet and grabbed for a dead agents' gun on the way. He assumed his would be pooched after that and he wasn't going to risk taking it back to look anyway, he'd make due with this. With that, he made to follow the others and respond to Icos's calls out to them with haste.

As the fighting continued Icos made note of the fact the Collectors were falling back out of their posts, perhaps convinced they could hold them better in the compound it still seemed rather weird. They had the IIA held down pretty good, slowing their advance terribly - why fall back now. Icos shook his head as he lifted his rifle and aimed down the sights, firing off a round at a Collector who had exited one of the houses.
"They're falling back!" One IIA Agent called as they caught on the same information as Icos did. He didn't like this, yet there was simply no reason not to advance with such limited time they had. Icos took two steps forward when he felt it, such a intense blast that knocked him straight to his feet. The entire street - buildings and select cars, had been rigged to blow as a last ditch chance to ward off invaders.
What an excellent job it did, too. The explosion was so petrifying and dangerous that it knocked everyone to their feet, those who were lucky anyway, everyone else was shredded by the explosions and shrapnel. The building Natalia and Zahkriit were on also had explosives on it, the explosions perhaps too weak to collapse the entire building but strong enough to kill anyone on the first and second floor, leaving large gaps in the roof as well.
Natalia yelped as the explosions rocked the building, her voice died out by the noise the explosives made as she held herself to the ground, hoping no explosives were right under her.
The entire street was now engulfed in a sea of flames that sought to stem the Imperial advance on the compound.

The two girls had only had enough time to gather themselves, Tanya having found a new confidence with Callie and together the two of them had gotten to their feet and ran out into the firefight ready to tackle what they thought could be anything that came their way, Dust for a brief moment didn't seem so scary anymore. It was in those moments that they thought things were just starting to go right when they felt a sensation that almost felt like the entire world, the pressure around them was twisting. The world around them seemed to explode then, throwing the girls forcefully to the ground.
Callie's left arm stung as she bashed her elbow into the ground but she rolled over for cover from any fiery debris or sharp pieces, screaming out, "Tanya!" and hoping the other girl could hear her. Tanya hadn't fallen too far away from her and immediately she'd rolled to face Callie, copying her in her motions until they could safely get to their feet again.
Troy instinctively knew, even if he only had milliseconds before the explosives went off he knew this sensation and knew what was coming. His eyes widening, he'd dove for the ground just as the explosion went off, hugging the ground with hands overhead to cover himself.
'Holy crap....!' he'd thought as he bit his lip as hard as he could.

Icos pulled himself up from the explosion, his body clear from any major, aside from the trail of blood that was leaking from one of his ears. "Dammit." He cursed while giving a spit to the ground. The heat from the flames were unbearable and painful and his worries briefly turned towards his men, notably Natalia and Zahkriit. Yet he knew he couldn't stop moving, not yet.
He wouldn't let their lives be in vain.
"Get up, now!" Icos roared, grabbing those he saw were unhurt... or acceptably hurt. He took his revolver out and pushed through the flaming streets, slowly others pulled themselves up and began following him. This is what they trained for, these were the moments that defined the victors over the forgotten. Icos hasn't lost a fight yet.
He took a step right through the gate that had been blown open. His black cloak flowing with everything gust of wind that pushed against his ash covered body. He probably looked like some sort of demon; walking through the flaming streets with eyes intent on drawing blood from his enemy. That he did, raising his weapon on the first Collector he saw he put a bullet straight into their head.
-
Natalia could feel how unstable the building was, the way it swayed a little and the heat that she could feel rise through the floor to the roof meant that the entire floors beneath them were in flames. "Zahkriit." She hissed out, "G-Get up, we need to get off this building now!" Natalia warned as she pulled herself up, keeping her arms held out to try and maintain balance. Her daze was still bad and her ears were ringing like crazy, she wasn't entirely sure what was happening but she knew they needed to get away.

"Let's go!"
Callie's voice was clear in Tanya's ears as they followed Icos's voice through the gate. In Tanya's eyes the cute little Callie charged on ahead like she really was a soldier, unable to show fear, and with a roar of her own showed no hesitation to pull the trigger as they stormed into Dust's territory. Tanya only followed right behind Callie, close and tucked between several others and feeling nothing but a numb feeling all over her body. She was weightless, floating along in a sea of flames and blood and the only sense she had was her eyesight. It was strange to say for once, she saw everything.
Tanya's first revolver was kept close to her, and in ways she couldn't explain the world around her didn't seem so dark as she was suddenly made aware of the windows and doors around them. When more Collectors popped out their heads from hiding, it was like time had stopped. It was so perfect and smooth, watching her own armed hand lift and with a slow exhale a shot was fired and within seconds of the first another was fired from her other revolver. A short spray of blood come from their foreheads and both dropped, something that even Callie almost stopped and had to do a double-take. Tanya could shoot.
'No, Tanya can shoot! What the...' the Ellusian girl's frenzied thoughts ran through her head. Seeing her pull the trigger on someone was baffling enough but the aim she had was something even more startling.
"G-good shot!" she managed to spit out at the girl as they carried on, admittedly she was now suddenly feeling a little less useful to the Flynn girl now.
