There were some things that when stolen could easily be hidden, they could be sold, they could be handed away to someone who could better take care of them, but the conditions of performing such actions were that whatever you had stolen really had to be inanimate. As soon as you tried to sell, hide or give away something that was real and living, the whole task became much more difficult because that object then had opinions, it could fight back, it could act difficult. This was Kri's primary worry at the moment as they were making an attempt to hide the girl whom they had managed to grab from the train.
They still had no idea just who she was, or what she was capable of, but the Rebels knew that she was clearly important to be held in such a highly secure manner. If she was important to the Government, then that meant it was important that they deny them her, but unlike the Government, they wouldn't simply make her disappear, she would undergo exactly what Kri had needed to do when he had fled. She would get a new name, a place to live, an entirely new life away from their prying eyes, but it meant that she would suffer the same fears, the same paranoia, that constant worried feeling that someone would even say your name.
Today was the day that they were moving her to yet another safe house, this time from To Chaméno all the way into the Red Light District of Thelotia. It had been difficult getting her into the city, but at least they had managed it. The girl would be staying in an abandoned home down The Lost Path. As she had done for the last month and a bit, she would be staying with a team specially assembled by Konig Exusia to protect the girl whilst she was in hiding. The team was made up of the following;
Kri - It was unsure why, but his presence around the girl back at the train had triggered an intense magical reaction, so Konig wanted him to stay nearby and see if he could figure out just what it had been.
The Dolus Brothers - Out of most of the Rebels, these two were the ones with plenty of combat experience. If someone did decide to try and attack the girl, Konig wanted to make sure that there would be people there capable of protecting her.
Hana Redfern - The girl would no doubt be somewhat worried about her current situation, and Konig wanted to do everything in his power to make sure she was as comfortable as possible, so he had specifically asked for Hana to be on the team. He hoped a female presence would put the girl more at ease.
All five of them, the girl included, were huddled down a side alley, Kri pressed against the wall at the end, glancing up and down at The Lost Path to see if anyone was watching. The rain was hammering down against the ground, soaking Kri's clothes through, including the long cloak which he had thrown on to protect him from the elements. He was worried that someone would come for the girl, worried enough that he had even asked Konig if Ataxía would be joining them. The Rebel Commander had insisted that he didn't trust The Dragon Slayer's motives and ambitions, and thus, wouldn't have him in the team.
"Oioioi..." Kri muttered with a grimace as he quickly glanced up at the sky. "The weather's getting worse... This place better not have any leaks."
He glanced over his shoulders with a grin, clearly trying to lighten the mood. But between no word having come back about Katori and the general dismal affair of a rebellion, it was difficult. In particular, he hoped to coax the girl out of her shell, she hadn't said a word for the entire month since they'd freed her...

Amorite stood with his back against the wall pulling his rain heavy hair off of his face and slicking it back as the group made sure their path was clear. "Seriously, I hate to argue with the importance of moving around but could we have waited at LEAST for a day when it wasn't raining?" Amorite hissed before his eyes fell onto the child who stayed tucked up between Kri and Hana. The child did her best to seem as small as possible, she didn't seem to like moving through the streets and the rain only seemed to frighten the girl more, Amorite had gave her his jacket which seemed to help put the girl at ease... not that she'd tell them any different, Amorite hadn't heard the girl speak a single word.
His eyes glanced away from the girl and back to Kri, suddenly wishing he hadn't voiced his complaints, "I'm not complaining of course. I just want to make sure we're not making our own job harder with all these complications."
It was easy to disappear in To Chameno, so that only fueled Amorite's confusion. Could the authorities be so effective around here that all this extravagance was necessary?

Hana narrowed her eyes as she touched the frail scarf over her cracked lips. She was cold, tired and most of all, wounded. Despite being attended and fixed up, it didn't make up for the fact that she really didn't want to be here watching over some girl like she was their new shiny pet. As if playing babysitter wasn't annoying enough; the air smelled like rotting garbage and wet, soppy, muck of the earth. Above all her muscles protested with every shift of her unstable footing. And yet here she was, and why? Because she was a born-breed-solider and most of the time did what the higher rank said. So here she stands in illiquid dirt, dogging the drops of water falling from the sky threatening to soak her even more to the bone, huddled together with a group that could really use a bath, like some twisted kindergartener club house.
Hana moved closer to the front of the group, sneering once at Kri's failed attempt at being humorist. "Doesn't appear to be any activity around here. Shall we split up and check the back ways are perhaps just waltz our way across the ground and into some place warm?" Her voice harden at the end, her mouth left with a bitter taste as she glanced back at the group for confirmation. She didn't like having to worry about others, nonetheless, for the most part, she was part of a team; and a team looks out for each other....Right? "Do you even know where we are going?" Hana's eyes glance back and forth from Amorite to Kri.

"That building there." Kri muttered, motioning to a rickety building not much farther down the path. His eyes narrowed as he once more gave The Lost Path a quick scan up and down. This was the place where anyone without a home or family usually ended up, and it made him edgy that they hadn't seen a single soul since they'd gotten into this district. He looked over his shoulder at the group that they had and then back down the path. His bandaged arm gave a slight twitch as he finally came to a decision.
"We'll split into two groups, circle around the building, make sure that it's clear, and then meet back at the front entrance." He glanced over at the Dolus brothers. "Amorite, you stay here with the girl, Hana, Lee, you two go one way and then I'll go the other." He nodded to himself. He wasn't sure if going on his own was a great idea, but nonetheless it had to be done. He'd noted how Hana had stayed behind to help Ataxía on the train and if he was being perfectly honest, it made him slightly wary of the girl. Ataxía was a great warrior, yes, but he was also unstable and difficult to trust, any potential ally of his would need to be watched closely, which is why he was sending Lee with her.

"Alrighty boss man!" Amorite gave a nod towards Kri, "Be quick though, I can't guarantee we won't sneak off to some party. Isn't that right, kid!?"
Silent stare from the child.
"Exactly!"

"just don't scare the kid, Amorite." Hana mutters before taking a step to the larger man who looked like he had killed a couple people with his hands before attending the morning's meal. She gave a nod of acknowledgement as she side stepped him and started down a path behind some houses. creeping low and carefully, doing her best to make soundless footsteps her eyes fell on every single thing, watching all the windows for any signs of life. "Are there suppose to be, I don't know, people living in theses?" Hana whispered over her shoulder meanwhile she created a ice sword in her hand without loosing a beat. She felt weary of potential sudden attacks. Hana felt certain that there had to be people here, maybe they were watching them, maybe they didn't even know her and her little group was here. But who couldn't? That girl is like a beckoning. Even from here she could feel a sense of electricity in the air, like a slight buzzing that wouldn't go disperse. With each step away she felt less and less energized and something told her not to trust the host of source with energy like that.

I un-holstered my revolver holding it close to my hip and followed Hana down the path. I followed her lead keeping low to the ground, trying my best not to draw an unwanted attention, though I suppose I looked pretty suspicious, hunched down, looking from one ratty shit-shack to the next, "You'd be surprised what people can live in."
I continued down the path paranoia sinking in, the hairs on my neck stood, I felt like I was being watched and I knew Hana could feel it too, I looked at the rooftops and the windows, still seeing nothing, the streets were clear were all the people inside due to the rain or was it something else? up ahead the path split off in different directions, If we we're going to circle and meet up we'd have to go right.

Kri had already hunkered down the left path, trying his hardest to shake the feeling of paranoia and the knawing obsession with being observed, but despite his best efforts, the nagging feeling remained. Still, he had a task to get on with, so that would have to be what he focused on for now. He pressed onwards, all of his attention on the building they would be entering...
His focus meant that he never even saw the shadow pass over his head and back the way that he came.

Amorite stuffed his hands into his pocket, giving a great sigh of boredom as he walked from one end to the other, making casual glances back at the kid, who was watching him with a rather worried look.
"So..." Amorite began, trying to get some sound to break the awkward silence, "You like any music, kid?"
No answer.
"Like, when I was young there were always two old ladies who would bang some pots together out on the streets and I thought THAT was some sick music. Occasionally I would join in, you know, I'd rock it with the dance move I liked to call 'the noodle'. I'd have a good time until Lee would pull me away, saying how those ladies would cook children or something..."
Silence.
"Anyway, I thought that was about as good music gets but here I've had access to such cool shit, like there's this song about getting so high on mana that you can't feel your face and I KNOW you know what I'm talkin' about, AMIRIGHT!?" Amorite joked, holding his hand up for the girl to slap it.
Chilling stare.
"Right..." Amorite coughed, "Where are those guys..."

Hana's grip tightened. "Lee?" She whispers taking a couple steps forward. She was listening so hard Hana could hear the late night birds calling out to one another, the crickets singing in crowds of thousands, even the slight movement of Lee's shirt swaying in the dark breeze, and then movement, up above their heads. Still stalled for a moment before pressing her back against the nearest wall. Her eyes scanned the area but couldn't see anything relevant. "I think we may have some company." But even as she said those words she felt a movement, a tiny shift of breeze. "Could easily be a cat for all I know..." Hana muttered uncertain and touched her sword against her chest . "Back to the others..?" Her eyes darted this way and that, but couldn't see anyone.

The heavy pounding of the rain was perfect for Adela. The one issue with the Reel System was the launching and latching of the grappling hooks made a slight amount of noise which if someone was intently listening for, could be heard with ease. The thudding of water against ground and dirt completely negated such an issue, allowing Adela to soar over the heads of her prey completely unnoticed. She was wearing her standard 'uniform' if one could call it that; a white hooded jumper under a brown jacket, brown pants and black boots. Over this she had a green hooded cloak which was marked with the symbol of The Church of Eight, the hood of which was pulled up over her head and most of her face. Between the billowing cloak, the hood and the darkness, it was almost impossible to make out if she was even male or female.
With the lightest of taps, she landed atop one of the two roofs that made up the alleyway in which one man and a young girl were both hiding. She heard the man making some light attempt at conversation, but was completely disinterested as usual, her entire focus was on the girl. She definitely matched most of what the file had said on her, but she couldn't clearly see her face from here. Adela looked to the left and then to the right before studying the gap between the two buildings, she could easily make the jump, even with all the added weight of the Reel System at her waist. There was no time for doubt, she needed to confirm her target and then get the girl back to Andrew, the three she had seen on her way in would no doubt be returning from their scouting soon, and the less opponents she faced the better, she couldn't really be bothered with a lengthy fight today. Taking a few steps back, she gave herself a nod.
She had already sent out an anonymous message to the other mercenary hired by Andrew, telling them where the girl would be being moved to, if they decided not to act on that information, then it was certainly no problem of hers.
Adela said off at a sprint before leaping over the gap, embracing the brief feeling of weightlessness as momentum carried her across the void and into safety. With the slightest clutter, again masked by the rain, she landed on the opposite roof and gave a slight roll to take the brunt of the force made upon impact. Straightening herself up, she stalked to the edge of the rooftop and watched those below her... Waiting for the girl to even glance in her direction.

As Adela watched the two below, Amorite was sat right next to the little girl, continuously rambling on, "It's not that I've never been in a relationship before, because I have had PLENTY of women. And Dwarves... Dwarves a little smelly but they sure know how to have a good time!" He laughed a bit before his face grew a bit sour, "But I think - and I'm just spouting off things here - my evasiveness to finding a new relationship stems from the fact that the last girl I loved shot me and sold me out to the police."
Amorite rubbed his chin in thought, "What do you think?"
That actually earned a reaction from the child, who gave a rather confused stare at the man. Amorite merely shrugged at her reaction, "Well kid I don't know if you know how to talk but you sure know how to listen."
As Amorite rambled on the little girl stared up towards the sky, spotting Adela on the roofs above them. The child's eyes stared at Adela for a long time which eventually caught Amorite's attention.
"Something catch your eye, kid?" Amorite asked as he turned to look...

At a boot. The second the girl had even glanced in Adela's direction, she had known without a moments hesitation that it was definitely her target. A grappling hook was instantly launched and plowed into the wall beside Amorite's head and Adela leaped from the roof, reeling herself in towards the pair of them. The speed of her attack meant that Amorite had never even registered the hook in the wall, let alone the pair of size five boots being pressed into his face. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be a killing blow, even the pain would wear off after a while, but it gave Adela exactly what she wanted, and that was the element of surprise. As soon as she had connected with Amorite, she backflipped away from the Rebel and laid a hand on the girls shoulder, pulling her back slightly and rolling her behind Adela's body, so that the mercenary stood between the girl and Amorite. Reaching to her waist, she unsheathed one of the two swords which when sheathed, simply acted as the trigger controls for her Reel System. Palming it in her right hand, she held her left near the girl, preventing her from making a break for freedom. The hooded cloak still hid Adela's true identity from her opponent. She waited for a brief moment, she wasn't going to flee until she saw his reaction. If she turned now and he was sharp, he may even attack her from behind, but if he was sluggish, she could take the opportunity to escape.

"What the..." Amorite managed to get out before he was kicked back with such force that it threw him off his feet, nearly colliding into the wall if he didn't act quick enough by using his magic. Right before Amorite hit the wall his magic kicked in, scattering himself in a wave of burning hot dust that at first looked uncoordinated and staggering before it gathered together and rushed right at the aggressor.
"Get away from her!" Amorite roared as the burning hot dust threatened to devastate the mercenary.

Hana took off in a sprint. Instead of taking off to the center of the battle, which the noise was undoubted, she took the higher ground. And no, that didn't mean reading the bible. She found a way up the side of one of the houses and crept to the edge. "Sh--" she muttered before pressing to the floor. "what have you done Amorite?" Hana slide back and stashed two ice daggers she created into her boots and looked for a way to sneak-attack the blondie. Seeing no choice in doing so quickly Hana took a deep breathe before lunch a handful of ice daggers towards Adela. Unafraid of hurting the child, but hoping not to.
